FAIRFAX, Va., May 27, 2009 — SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX), a leading provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to government organizations and commercial clients, today announced it will be honored with three awards -- “Excellent Place to Work,” “Health and Wellness Trailblazer,” and “Ecoleadership” -- by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence on June 3. The awards will be presented at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
This is the second consecutive year SRA has received recognition for the “Excellent Place to Work” award. This award acknowledges visionary employers that are paving the way to a workplace where men and women are able to experience professional fulfillment, success and personal wellness not only at work, but also at home and within the community. This is the first year SRA has been recognized with the Health and Wellness Trailblazer and the EcoLeadership awards.
The Health and Wellness Trailblazer award is given to companies which demonstrate an outstanding commitment to employee health and wellness—and have led the way by developing innovative programs. The Ecoleadership award is given to companies who have an outstanding commitment to environmentally sustainable workplaces and efficient use of resources.
“At SRA we pride ourselves on the careers and programs we offer our employees at the workplace, at home and in our communities,” said SRA President & CEO Stan Sloane. “It is gratifying to receive these awards on behalf of our people and the work they do for our customers, our environment and in our communities.”
SRA offers a number of innovative benefits ranging from non-profit giving through SRA Cares to access to nurses on staff at the company – all to support the health, wellness and community involvement of employees.
SRA’s Go Green campaign, launched in April 2007, emphasizes environmental stewardship through recycling, energy efficient buildings and creating corporate-driven environmental objectives and measurable targets that can be tracked and continually improved to raise general employee awareness about environmental protection at the individual, community and global levels.
To be considered for the awards, businesses were required to complete a comprehensive and rigorous assessment process led by an independent review panel of professors, Ph.D. professionals, and Ph.D. students of business, industrial and organizational psychology and human resources.
