SRA Awarded $25 Million Blanket Purchasing Agreement from USDA Food and Nutrition Service |
The ALERT system is a fraud-detection, decision-support system designed to monitor and track electronically conducted retail transactions completed by Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in authorized meal program and food retailer locations. The ALERT system facilitates management of the program by providing transaction-level information to the federal personnel responsible for SNAP retailer management and compliance activities. SRA will work with FNS to develop the next-generation ALERT system, to enhance its functionality and modernize its technology. SRA's solution includes advanced analytics, data mining and pattern recognition to increase the volume of fraud detection. SRA has also proposed a geographic information system solution that will allow investigators the ability to detect fraud based on geospatial analysis.
