Entrusted to Update an Outdated Payroll System
The U.S. Coast Guard had an outdated Retiree and Annuitant Payroll system. That system wasn't FISMA compliant and was based on an unsupportable Wang platform using error-prone, manual calculations. During testing, SRA and the Coast Guard uncovered and corrected thousands of legacy data errors.
SRA implemented Oracle's® PeopleSoft® Global Payroll solution, bringing state-of-the-art security, data integrity, workflow and internal controls to the Coast Guard. The system's rules-based engine enabled SRA to satisfy the extremely complex, ever-changing laws governing the administration of military retired pay.
The Coast Guard has a fully compliant, robust payroll system to ensure its military retirees and annuitants are paid correctly now and in the future.
SRA collaborated with the U.S. Coast Guard to replace the organization's legacy payroll system with Oracle's® PeopleSoft® Global Payroll 8.9. We leveraged the expertise of our PeopleSoft Practice and the superior technology of Oracle's solution to deliver value to an organization that is a vital part of our national security. SRA was awarded the Coast Guard Meritorious Team Commendation for our contributions to this project.

SRA helped the Coast Guard comply with FISMA by replacing its outdated, error-prone legacy retiree and annuitant Payroll system with Oracle's® PeopleSoft® Global Payroll 8.9. The new, rules-based PeopleSoft engine implements even the most complex payroll requirements. The ever-changing laws governing military retiree pay cannot be satisfied by most prepackaged North American payroll systems. The Global Payroll solution is now fully integrated with PeopleSoft HCM, which the Coast Guard uses for all its human resource operations.
